*Between September 8-20 we will be hosting one of Kim’s teachers, Maestro Laurencio López Núñez who is a curandero, botanist, author, and temazcalero. During his visit there will be an optional 5 day retreat, and potentially other opportunities to work with him. The dates and events are not yet fully developed and are to be determined, we will continue to keep you informed as things come together.

Please note that learning continues outside of the class time. Between classes, participants will be tasked with connecting with their mentor and other participants to continue the learning, the energy of the medicine, and develop connections in the community.

Attendance Policy

It is important that all members of the Heal the Spirit series will be present for all ceremonies and classes. In the instance of an absence, the participant will have a specific protocol for a make-up of the missed class….which will help maintain community congruence, trust and respect. If more than 2 classes are missed, the person will need to retake the series.

Optional Special Retreat with Maestro Laurencio

Kim with Maestro Laurencio in Mexico

Participants will also have a separate opportunity to attend a very special 5 day retreat (first time offered in Minnesota!) with Maestro Laurencio López Núñez of Oaxaca, Mexico. This retreat will be from Sunday, September 10 to Friday, September 15 at a retreat center in Minnesota within 90 mins of Minneapolis. Participants will be staying at the retreat center for the duration of the retreat. This retreat will be bilingual and is not required and not included with the Heal the Spirit class fee. The Retreat will have its own investment fee/cost to attend which will cover staying on the 90 acres of the retreat center, all meals, and as well as paying Maestro Laurencio for his teachings and other costs. We will have more details about this coming very soon!

Class Fee

The fee for this 7 Month Series is $2,700. This is inclusive of 80+ hours of experiential education that will include guest teachings from local and international Elders. This also accounts for all of the administrative work, coordinating efforts, and other costs associated with hosting a class of this nature to ensure a full experience for all participants.

Payment Options

There are three options for payments in 2023:

  1. Full payment upon registration, which is required by April 30.
  2. Two payments: $1,350 on April 30 and $1,350 on May 31
  3. 5 payments with the following schedule: $700 before April 17, then 4 - $500 payments to be paid on April 30, May 30, June 30, and July 31.

After you register for the class, you will automatically receive an email asking you to complete a form. In this form, you will designate the payment option you would like. You will be required to have a card on file, and the card will be charged on the day indicated in the payment plan.

Register for the Series

We realize that this amount may not feel accessible for everyone. In the past we have had some funding and scholarship money available in the form of grants and other sources. Those sources are not available to us for each offering, which is true for this year's series. So, here are some ideas to support your attendance; others have had good success with these:
  • Crowd fund from family and friends to supplement or fully fund your registration. This is an excellent exercise in asking for and receiving community support.
  • Maybe you work for a company or belong to an organization that offers funds or grants for continuing education. It may subsidize or fully pay for the registration.
  • Apply for grants from community, cultural, or corporate organizations.

Cancellation Policy

Please note: in order to run the class and make it possible to pay the Elders in the community a good teaching rate as well as other admin and facilities costs, we need a certain number of students to run the class. Thus, last minute changes can impact our ability to continue the offerings. Because of this, cancellation requests must be made by May 15, 2023 for a 50% refund of the total amount paid. There are no refunds for cancellations after May 15, 2023, or for any missed classes.

Every time we offer this course the group is a beautiful and wonderful combination of people. We are very excited to have you join us on this sacred and powerful medicine journey.
